Guernsey Stamps announces the release of its stamp issue featuring the Blue Whale, the latest in its endangered species series.
The issue comprises a Miniature Sheet (£3.00) together with the Presentation Pack (£3.90) and First Day Cover (£4.20).
The Blue Whale is the seventh stamp issue in the endangered species series, which features the Golden Snub-nosed Money (2004); the Basking Shark (2005); Florida Everglades (2006); Mount Gorilla (2007); the Amur Leopard (2009); and the Asian Elephant in 2010. All the previous issues are available to purchase in as part of an Endangered Species album..
The entire endangered species series, including the Blue Whale, has been illustrated by renowned wildlife artist Joel Kirk, whose pictures are sold around the world.
Available to buy online at www.guernseystamps.com from 1st April 2011, Joel has signed a series of limited edition prints of the original stamp artwork for each of the stamps issued, plus an additional image of the incredible Amur Leopard that was used for the Presentation Pack (sized at 210 x 297 landscape priced at £15 each).
