Guernsey Post’s Endangered Species miniature sheet series shone a spotlight on vulnerable species facing the threat of extinction. These beautifully illustrated stamps raise awareness of the challenges these animals encounter due to human activity, climate change, and shifts in predator-prey dynamics.

One of the leading causes of endangerment or extinction is the destruction or pollution of natural habitats. Other contributing factors include:
Overhunting and exploitation
Intentional extermination
Introduction of invasive species that compete with native wildlife for resources

Each issue in this series serves as a reminder of the importance of conservation and the urgent need to protect biodiversity for future generations. There are 13 miniature sheets in the series. Included is the Golden Snub-Nosed Monkey (2004), Basking Shark (2005), Florida Everglades (2006), Mountain Gorilla (2007), Amur Leopard (2009), Asian Elephant (2010), Blue Whale (2011), the Bengal Tiger (2012), the Giant Panda (2013), the Sumatran Orangutan (2014), the Philippine Eagle (2016), the Black Rhinoceros (2018), and finally the Kordofan Giraffe (2020).
