Guernsey Post celebrates a year of stamps and announces first quarter 2024 stamp programme

Guernsey Post’s philatelic bureau is delighted to announce that colourful Guernsey and Alderney folders containing its 2023 stamp issues will be available from 1 December 2023.

Each of the folders contains the complete set of stamps released for each island, including souvenir and miniature sheets, along with the stamp specification details and mint stamps.

The Guernsey folder includes several commemorative issues including stamps celebrating the life of Queen Elizabeth II; a £10 definitive stamp depicting King Charles III from his Coronation; 150 Years of the Kennel Club; and the 65th anniversary of Guernsey’s first regional stamps being issued.

Other highlights include EUROPA ‘Peace’ stamps and SEPAC ‘Traditional Market’ stamps, as well as colourful stamps celebrating the 2023 Island Games, which Guernsey hosted for an unprecedented third time, and much more besides.

The Alderney Folder includes delightful stamps that celebrate the 150th anniversary of Jules Verne’s celebrated novel Around the World in 80 Days, along with stamps depicting the Atlantic puffin, which reunite on the rocky little island of Burhou near Alderney each year.

Alderney commemorative issues include a wonderful stamp set depicting images from the Coronation of King Charles III and a joint issue with Guernsey designed by world-renowned stamp engraver and artist Martin Mörck, which is a se-tenant miniature sheet depicting Alderney and Guernsey court houses to mark the 75th anniversary of the 1948 Alderney Agreement.

Completing both sets are this year’s Guernsey and Alderney Christmas stamps, which feature distinct illustrative styles that bring to life the centuries old story of Jesus’s birth and depict some of the important scenes from the Nativity.
