Guernsey Post celebrates a year of Bailiwick stamps with keepsake folders

Guernsey Post’s philatelic bureau announces that it will release Guernsey, Alderney and Sark keepsake folders containing every stamp issue released this year for each island, including souvenir and miniature sheets, and mint stamps.

The Guernsey folder includes commemorative stamps including the 250th anniversary of J.M.W. Turner’s birth, the 80th anniversary of Guernsey’s Liberation following World War II, and stamps highlighting the remarkable craftsmanship of Nicolas Blondel, the island’s renowned clockmaker.

Also featured are stamps depicting key moments from the Royal Visit to Guernsey of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla; stamps celebrating the first anniversary of the Golden Guernsey Goat breed being granted a royal title by Their Majesties during that visit; and SEPAC stamps on the theme Architecture, depicting St James in Guernsey, a 200-year old former church which has become a much loved cultural hub.

Alderney’s folder contains stamps featuring the island’s Blue Plaque Trail, which honours significant individuals linked to Alderney; stamps depicting the island’s most distinctive resident - the blonde hedgehog – which is rare elsewhere but common on Alderney; Elisabeth Beresford’s beloved Wombles, seen along their Alderney trail; and a commemorative miniature sheet to mark the 80th anniversary of Alderney’s Homecoming following World War II.

Completing both folders for Guernsey and Alderney are this year’s Christmas stamps, which take inspiration from the classic carol The Twelve Days of Christmas, together creating a narrative of this seasonal favourite.

In celebration of Sark releasing its first official postage stamps – the first new British stamps in over 40 years – Guernsey’s philatelic bureau has produced a keepsake folder containing both stamp issues: the 80th anniversary of Sark’s Liberation following World War II, and definitive stamps depicting the Wildflowers of Sark, reflecting its extraordinary natural heritage.
