We are delighted to have put together this limited edition First Day Cover to commemorate the first Red Cross ship to arrive in St Peter Port, Guernsey after the island was freed from German Occupation in 1945.

The 27th December 2019 heralds the 75th anniversary of the day that the SS Vega arrived in St Peter Port, bringing Red Cross parcels to the Guernsey people at the end of WWII. It then travelled on to St Helier, Jersey, where it arrived on 30th December.

The cover features the Guernsey Letter and UK Letter rate stamps and the cover from the 70th Anniversary of Liberation issue with a special pictorial cancellation dated 27 December 2019, 75th Anniversary and a line drawing of the SS Vega.

Only 100 covers will be produced and are available to purchase online for £5.00.

A donation of £2.00 per cover will be donated to the Red Cross.
