Guernsey Post to issue commemorative Royal Baby stamps

Guernsey Post is delighted to announce that it will issue a special commemorative stamp issue to mark the birth of the Royal baby.

The Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to a boy weighing 8lbs 6oz at 4.24pm yesterday at St. Mary's Hospital in Paddington, London.

The commemorative set, comprising a miniature sheet, first day cover and presentation pack, is to be issued following Royal approval.

Dawn Gallienne, head of philatelic at Guernsey Post, said that every Guernsey and Alderney baby who was born on the same day as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's first child, would receive the commemorative stamp set, including a framed First Day Cover.  It is understood that three babies were born in Guernsey and one baby was born in Alderney yesterday.
