We are delighted to release the latest stamps in our Chinese New Year series, celebrating the Year of the Ox 2021, which begins on 12 February 2021 and ends on 30 January 2022.
According to the Chinese zodiac, known as Sheng Xiao, each Chinese New Year is characterised by one of the 12 animals, based on a 12-year cycle in line with the Chinese lunar calendar.
Now in its eighth year, our latest stamp set celebrates the Year of the Ox, which, in China, is a highly respected animal due to its significant role in agriculture.
It is common practice in China to display Feng Shui animal ornaments depicting coins and gold to attract good fortune. This is reflected on the ox stamp designs, created by Chrissy Lau, which take their inspiration from the patterns found on Feng Shui ornaments.
