Description

1066 is arguably the most important year in England’s history. The death of King Edward the Confessor 950 years ago unleashed a contest for the crown of England, which saw four different claimants for one throne and three battles, including a pivotal one near Hastings.

Guernsey Post has chosen to commemorate this historic event with a superbly illustrated set of stamps depicting the battle from both King Harold II’s and William I The Conqueror’s point of view. As shown illustrator Nick Watton has provided us with an excellent set of miniature artworks for all to enjoy. Don’t miss out, order yours today.
